While you may see a small variety of marine life while snorkeling at the beach, just going 4-5 nautical miles offshore, you can see so much more! There is a vast variety of marine life as well as corals that can only be found at the reef. You will also enjoy up-close views of the iconic 142’ Tall Sombrero Lighthouse.
No, there are no showers nor freshwater rinse off on the vessel.
No, there are no bathrooms onboard.
Yes. We do not require you to participate in snorkeling although the ticket price is the same for everyone.

Yes, the Snorkel & Sandbar Adventure is great for all ages.
Yes. Fury will provide you with snorkel instruction and equipment, but you must know how to swim to participate in any snorkel adventure. We take you about 4-5 miles offshore of Marathon and once in the ocean, there will not be a place for you to touch or stand, while snorkeling. All guests are required to wear buoyancy compensator vests for their safety. Fury crew is present to assist in an emergency, but will not be able to solely attend one party for the duration of the trip. For those unable to swim, we suggest booking our Marathon 7 Mile Bridge Sunset Cruise (or visiting us in Key West to parasail, take the Glass Bottom Boat or Jet Ski Tour). Guests are also always welcome to relax and enjoy the views from aboard the vessel during the snorkel portion of any tour. All participants must sign a liability waiver to participate in snorkeling and other adventures.
Guests can jump off the boat into the water or use the ladder.
Yes, but the space is limited in the shaded areas.
Normally, we visit Sombrero Reef on the snorkeling tours. If conditions at Sombrero Reef do not permit us to visit the reef, you will enjoy extra time at Molasses Key.
Occasionally we will spot wild dolphins, but they do not frequent the areas we visit for the Marathon Tours. We highly recommend visiting us in Key West for the Dolphin Watch & Snorkel, if viewing wild dolphins is on your bucket list.
Coral reef snorkeling features deeper water exploration of coral heads and large schools of tropical fish, whereas snorkeling at the sandbar snorkel area is calmer, shallower and features a sandy bottom with various rocks, crustaceans and smaller fish.
Reef Safe sunscreen is required to protect the coral reef and must not contain chemicals like oxybenzone or octinoxate. While “biodegradable” refers to how the product breaks down, true reef protection requires mineral-based active ingredients like Non-Nano Zinc or Titanium Dioxide, which we provide complimentary on all snorkeling trips.
Blue Star certified operators are recognized by the NOAA and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary for their superior commitment to reef conservation and education. While standard tours provide access to the water, Fury’s Blue Star status means our crew undergoes continuing education to promote sustainable diving and snorkeling practices that reduce the impact on the Florida Keys’ delicate ecosystem.
Cancellation Policy
FURY WATER ADVENTURES REQUIRES all cancellations be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time to receive any refund. Any cancellations made same day with less than 24-hour notice for tickets purchased or held will be charged in full and are nonrefundable. TRIPS BOOKED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE SCHEDULED DEPARTURE TIME ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Guests can purchase Reservation Refund Protection to be eligible to cancel for a refund, transfer tickets or reschedule within 24 hours of departure. Marathon 7 Mile Bridge Sunset Cruise

You’ll be within one mile from the 7 Mile Bridge. Guests can see the old bridge and new.

Private Charters
Use these answers to plan your visit, compare options, and feel confident before booking.
Fury Marathon has two vessels available for private charters. The 45′ Corinthian Power Catamaran can hold up to 49 guests and features one nautical restroom, fresh water rinse and a covered seating area. The 31’ Motorized A & M Catamaran can hold up to 26 guests and features a shaded seating area, no bathroom onboard).
We require payment in full at time of booking for the private charters.
Yes! You can choose to charter a specific Fury tour if you wish or customize your own.
The most popular private charter is a 4 hour trip with snorkeling, relaxing at the sand bar. Depending on when your trip is booked, it’s possible to even watch the sunset.
Select charters include beer, wine, champagne, sodas and water. Catering options and bar upgrades are typically available for an additional fee. We do not allow outside catering or drinks on our charters.
We have a 20% non refundable deposit. Within 30-15 days of your charter, we are able to refund 50% of the trip, and within 15 days of your charter we do not offer a refund. We do offer a full refund if we cancel the charter due to weather conditions.
